the oil on level ground. That causes horsepower loss and whipping of the oil. If you look at any car crankshaft, all main and rod bearings have oil holes drilled. The oil pressure flows through the crankshaft like a straw. When the pick up sucks air, the oil pressure is interrupted for a seconds or less. Think of how many power strokes in one second occur on the crankshaft with loss of oil pressure.
